Eternity is a collaged quilt of fabric scraps that were scavenged, donated, and reused. These pieces were then hand cut and sewn together in a patchwork way. Combined with the many layers of fabric are hand sewn magazine and book pages. Together, the colors, textures, and images illustrate the many imbalances, beauty, suffering, and complexities of humanity. While making this piece, I was considering the thought that even though we are all mostly focused on our own small precious time on this earth, ultimately, we are all together in eternity. What do we choose to remember, live for, and leave behind?
